regional winner in the Business Idea competition, she
was able to use the money to make a video to promote the
business.

has recently launched the first issue of its e-zine, and

Parental
rights
From 1 April, the Work and Families Act gives greater
pay and leave entitlement to new parents and pregnant
women. Do you know how the changes affect you and your
business?
- Women entitled to a year of maternity leave,
regardless of the length of service.
- Paid maternity leave will be extended from 6 to 9
months.
- More flexibility for men and women to share time
off by 2008.
"You need to ensure you are up to date with parental
rights," says Alan Phillips, employment helpline manager
at Croner Consulting. "Employment tribunals make large
awards against employers who ignore the rules. You
cannot afford to be
